A vehicle theft ring tracked by police authorities

In Morocco, the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) provided valuable intelligence to the Moroccan Brigade in Temara, leading to the dismantling of a criminal network specializing in document forgery and car theft.

One suspect has already been apprehended.

Very recently, the General Directorate for Security announced that the main suspect was caught red-handed while operating as usual. He was moving one of the stolen cars, equipped with false license plates. Police officers who intercepted him also discovered sales documents, keys for various vehicle models, and accessories in his car.

The police immediately conducted a systematic search of the parking lot of the building where the perpetrator lived. There, they discovered another car with false license plates, the description of which matched that of one of the vehicles that, according to authorities, had disappeared shortly before. Searches and investigations led to the apprehension of a second suspect who was working in collusion with another group of criminals specializing in car theft and the falsification of license plates and chassis numbers. These highway robbers worked closely with the manager of a body shop, according to the Moroccan General Directorate of Security. Furthermore, the Directorate also reports that this man was arrested after police discovered approximately ten stolen cars in the cities of Salé, Medhia, and Temara. It’s no wonder that around two thousand cars are stolen in Morocco every year.

Further searches were conducted at the body shop, resulting in the immediate confiscation of various car bodies whose chassis numbers had also been falsified, concluded the General Directorate of Moroccan Security.

The two accomplices were detained by the police while the investigation continues under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.

Steering wheel lock as a preventative measure
