Moto-TMC Dumont, the incredible Brazilian motorcycle with an airplane engine

A new motorcycle has recently been produced. It’s a remarkable two-wheeled vehicle, equipped with an aircraft engine. The TMC Dumont is the brainchild of former racing driver Tarso Anibal Santanna Marques. This well-known figure in the world of motorcycle racing has recently dedicated himself to creating extraordinary motorcycles and cars. His latest creation is the TMC Dumont. This motorcycle combines a six-cylinder aircraft engine with 36-inch hubless wheels.

An extraordinary motorcycle

Often, the creative output of motorcycle designers is limited to a coat of paint here and there, a couple of cutouts, and a few overpriced accessories. This kind of creative genius is supposed to reinvent the motorcycle’s appearance. However, some two-wheeled vehicle customizers are far more innovative. This is certainly the case with the Brazilian workshop TMC, or Tarso Marques Concept. This workshop is behind a large number of truly extraordinary motorcycle creations. These are exceptional bikes that surpass the creative imagination of most motorcycle customizers.

Previous products have already achieved enormous success. Tarso Marques is the founder and head of this workshop. He collaborates with top-performing motorcycle customization specialists. This former racer is already known for his exceptional motorcycles: the Sesto Elemento and the Vanquish. These are highly customized bikes, both equipped with a twin-cylinder engine and wheels of different diameters. The front end of these motorcycles is unconventional.

Marques, a former Brazilian Formula 3 champion, is seeking even more attention with his latest spectacular creation, the “Dumont.” This creation features a 300 hp Rolls-Royce engine, originally designed for an aircraft. Like a Honda Gold Wing, the six cylinders of the air-cooled engine block are arranged horizontally.

A motorcycle with unique characteristics

The TMC Dumont is a boxer engine designed based on older models, particularly from the 1960s. The machine is indeed quite wide, even taking up a lot of space. Moreover, it emits a deafening roar. It’s a motorcycle that already rides well despite still being considered a prototype. The motorcycle’s originality doesn’t lie solely in its engine. Its hub wheels are also incredible. For the design of this model, the former driver drew inspiration from the concept of the orbital wheel. This design originated in 1989 thanks to the Italian engineer Franco Sbarro. To connect the rim and the motorcycle, there is a fixed point located inside the tread. These wheels have no central axle. They are XXL size, 36 inches front and rear (approximately 91.5 cm). The rear wheel is positioned close to the rider’s back.
