It had been almost six years since it was announced, nobody really believed it, and yet… it’s on the road!
Three axles for better road holding
Developed by Covini, a small Italian manufacturer, this supercar, curiously equipped with six wheels, will soon enter production. But why six wheels? According to the manufacturer, the third axle provides better grip, controlled aquaplaning, improved braking, and increased driver protection in a crash… This is understandable given the larger tire surface area in contact with the road. However, the manufacturer doesn’t mention the added weight (or cost) due to this third axle and the duplication of all its components (braking, suspension, steering systems, etc.).
