Renault 5 E-Tech for under €25,000

The final version of the Renault 5 E-Tech, the electric city car costing less than €25,000, has finally been unveiled by Renault. This presentation took place on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Geneva Motor Show. The car boasts a neo-retro design and a modern interior, with a range of up to 400 km.

After an intensive communication campaign and the presentation of a show car, the new Renault 5 E-Tech electric was finally revealed in its production version at the Geneva Motor Show on Monday, February 26, 2024.

As a reminder, this new Renault 5 is a 100% electric car that replaces the Zoe in the range and draws inspiration from the various versions of the original Renault 5 and Supercinq. It is based on the new AmpR Small platform (previously called CMF-B EV) and is more compact than current versatile city cars (B segment), measuring 3.92 m in length.

The design of the new electric Renault 5 concept has been faithfully preserved. The front end remains almost unchanged, as do many details, including the red trim above the windows, reminiscent of the rain gutter on the original R5.

• The car’s interior features a design never before seen in a Renault. The central screen is positioned horizontally, which is unusual for the manufacturer, and is an extension of the instrument cluster, slightly angled towards the driver.
• The electric Renault 5 is equipped with a wound-rotor synchronous electric motor, without permanent magnets or rare earth elements. Located on the front axle, as it is front-wheel drive, it produces 70 kW (95 hp), 90 kW (122 hp), or 110 kW (150 hp) for the top-of-the-range model. Finally, a sporty version will also be offered, in the Alpine brand’s catalog. It will be called the A290 and will be unveiled in June 2024.
