Car tires are crucial for the safety and performance of any vehicle. There are various types of tires, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Learn about the different types of car tires and follow our advice to understand the differences between models. We’ll also discuss the importance of tire pressure for safe and efficient driving.

All-Season Tires

All-season tires are a practical choice for those seeking a compromise between summer and winter tires. They offer good performance in wet and dry conditions, as well as good grip in winter conditions. All-season tires are also durable and long-lasting. They can be used year-round, making them a practical choice for those who don’t want to change their tires twice a year.

However, all-season tires are not recommended for regions with harsh winters or severe winter conditions. They tend to lack traction in deep snow or on ice, which can compromise driving safety. If you live in an area with harsh winters, it is recommended that you opt for specialized winter tires.

Summer Tires Summer car tires are designed to offer maximum performance in dry and hot conditions. They are made with a rubber compound that allows them to maintain optimal grip on dry and hot roads, which improves vehicle handling and performance. Summer tires also have minimal wear, making them economical in the long run.

However, summer tires are not recommended for use in wet or cold conditions. They tend to lose traction on wet or icy surfaces, which can increase the risk of accidents. If you live in an area with harsh winters or wet conditions, it is recommended that you switch to winter or all-season tires (see above).

Winter Tires

Winter tires are designed to provide maximum grip on icy, snowy, or wet roads. They are made with a rubber compound that remains flexible even in cold weather, improving vehicle grip and handling. Winter tires also have a tread pattern specifically designed to evacuate snow and water, further enhancing traction on wet and icy roads.

However, they wear out faster than summer or all-season tires and are more expensive. It is recommended to switch to winter tires as soon as temperatures drop below 7°C (45°F), even if there is no snow yet. This ensures optimal grip and safe driving, even in cold and wet conditions.

High-performance tires

High-performance tires are designed to offer maximum grip and handling on dry and hot roads. They are made with a softer rubber compound, allowing them to maintain excellent grip even at high speeds. High-performance tires also have a special tread pattern that enhances vehicle handling and performance.

Note: High-performance tires wear out faster than other types of tires and are not recommended for use in wet or cold conditions. They are also more expensive than other types of tires, which may be a factor to consider when purchasing them.

Tire pressure is a very important factor for vehicle performance and safety. Underinflated or overinflated tires can affect the vehicle’s grip, handling, and fuel consumption. It is recommended to check tire pressure at least once a month and before setting off on a long trip.

The recommended tire pressure varies depending on the type of tire and the vehicle.
